Common mistakes instructors make when setting up grading in their LMS.

Extended Abstract

If you use an LMS for your course and do your grading online then there's a good chance you're falling into some of these traps! The LMS gradebook should make your life easier, not harder! This session will cover some of the common pitfalls that cause extra work for instructors, confusion for students, and worst of all: inaccurate grades!

Years of first hand experience in both instructional technology and teaching have shown me that these pitfalls are as common among the tech savvy and the LMS new comers alike.

This session is recommended for any and all instructors, instructional designers, and instructional support that use the LMS for grading.

Lead Presenter

David has been working in academic technology since 2006 and has served faithfully at four different institutions of higher education. Currently at University of Colorado Denver he loves to work with, write, and talk about tech. He is also a vocal proponent of change in the higher-ed sector.
When not behind a keyboard he can be found behind a controller, hiking or practicing Kung fu.
