Dr. Robbie K. Melton – Master Chef, Associate Vice Chancellor of Mobilization Emerging Technology, Tennessee Board of Regents

The first proclaimed 'App-ologist' (the study of mobile apps for education and workforce enhancement). She currently serves as the associate vice chancellor for the Tennessee Board of Regents Office of Mobilization and Emerging Technologies. Chief responsibilities include strategic planning for higher education mobilization, assessment of emerging mobile technologies including smartphones, tablets, wearable, sensor tech, faculty PD and training, and creator and curator of the Educational and Workforce Mobile App Resource Center (Preschool - Careers) of apps aligned to academic programs and workforce careers. www.tbrmobile.org Speaker at the 2014 The United Nations Mobile Education Conference (UNESCO) in Paris, Panel Keynoter at the Mobile Learning International Conference, Madrid, Spain, 2013 Apple Distinguished Educator, 2012 Top Fifty Technology Innovation Educator from the Center for Digital Education and Converge, 2012 International ELES4-Africa Educator Technologist, WCET WOW Education Technology Award.
Denise Malloy

Denise Malloy -  Southwest Community College

Denise Malloy is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, TN. She assists Associate Vice Chancellor of Mobilization & Emerging Technologies, Dr. Robbie Melton, Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), as a faculty trainer, researcher, and pilots consultant. She is her campus’s TBR Mobilization & Emerging Technologies liaison, campus app distributor and faculty eMobilization mentor. She is a member of TBR’s eMobilization Executive Committee and Merlot team. And, she is a member of her college’s mobilization strategic planning team.

She evaluates mobile devices, apps, and web technologies for educational use. In addition to her listed roles, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at East Tennessee State University. She has 19 years of undergraduate teaching experience, has presented at regional, national and international conferences and looks forward to serving a leadership role, blending mobile and emerging technology with education.

Tara Tansil-Gentry

Tara Tansil-Gentry - University of Tennessee at Martin

Tara is an Instructor in the Health & Human Performance Department at the University of Tennessee at the Martin campus, where she also serves as peer-to-peer trainer for faculty introducing technology in the classroom through the Instructional Technology Center. She is completely her doctorate degree in Educational Technology.

Tara also serves under the direction of Dr. Robbie Melton is a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Mobilization and Emerging Technologies Team representing the University of Tennessee System campuses. The TBR Mobilization Team explores the impact, possibilities, and challenges of emerging technologies for increasing enrollment, retention, engagement, and graduate rates. Tara serves as a trainer, researcher, and pilots consultant in the area of fitness, health & wellness area for the TBR Mobilization Team. She reviews apps, devices, and wearable technology that impacts the fitness, health & wellness areas. Tara is a former Division I women’s basketball coach who brings 13 years of college coaching experience. She enjoys testing new technologies that have the potential to impact the classroom experience.
