What are the right questions to ask during the RFP process and vendor demos? Making sense of the constantly evolving higher education technology landscape can be a daunting and confusing process. Join Eduventures to learn about six critical factors to optimize the vendor selection process as well as current research to on emerging technology categories.

Extended Abstract

Eduventures will lead a discussion that defines six critical practices for the vendor selection process to more effectively and efficiently cut through the noise. We help institutions make critical decisions about how to choose the right solutions, Eduventures has developed an extensive market map of the higher education technology landscape. This research has extended into deep research and vendor profiles on multiple specific industry verticals to define solutions, differentiators, and institutional fit for different companies, including the CRM market, LMS add-ons, CBE vendors, online proctoring, and more vendor profiles across the student lifecycle.

Lead Presenter

Dr. Kenneth E. Hartman is a Senior Fellow at Eduventures, having served the past 30-years as a university professor, senior academic administrator, and consultant at several leading universities. Most recently, Dr. Hartman served as president of Drexel University Online, a for-profit subsidiary of Drexel University, where he was responsible for the overall operational and fiscal performance of a multi-million dollar company serving nearly 8,000 online adult learners in over 100 fully online degree programs. Dr. Hartman has designed and taught graduate-level online courses within Drexel University’s School of Education, where he earned the Drexel School of Education’s Faculty Fellow and Associate Award. He is the author of numerous trade and scholarly publications related to educational technology, an active presenter at industry conferences, and a current Online Learning Consortium board member. Formerly, a syndicated newspaper columnist, television talk show host and commissioned officer in the United States Army. Dr. Hartman holds an undergraduate degree from The State University of New York at Geneseo, a master's degree from Michigan State University, and a doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
