Extended Abstract

Students love to have access to learning materials 24 hours a day. However, simple PowerPoint presentations can lack appeal. In addition, instructors may find it difficult to create online lectures for each topic discussed during class. This presentation describes how instructors can create engaging online interactive lessons with assessments to determine their impact. The presenter will share websites that feature free videos that can be integrated into interactive video lessons. Based on her experiences with working with K-12 and higher education students, the presenter will provide suggestions for developing lessons and tips for choosing effective tools.
The presenter will engage the audience by inviting members to explore the interactive video lessons created for the presentation. An online handout with links to the tools and samples discussed during the presentation will be shared.

In summation, during the presentation the presenter will:
- Identify free tools for creating interactive video lessons
- Explain the similarities and differences between the interactive video lesson tools
- Identify free options for recording screencasts to integrate into interactive video lessons
- Identify websites with educational videos that can be used in interactive video lessons
- Present examples of interactive video lessons that the audience can explore during the presentation
- Share tips for creating interactive video lessons
